In my last series I use hydrozoa as a metaphor for the principle of movement.

Stream/ flow was a main theme in my work and I discovered that in fact a jellyfish is the materialisation of movement (exist 98% of water, oneness with water). And also is symbol of the cyclic movement of live.

This series is not only about beauty, grace and movement, but as I recently realized, also about vulnerability, sensitivity and fragility. Not only a phase I myself go through, but also our planet and its inhabitants.

By choosing alabaster as a material, I was able to approach the fascinating transparency, but I also had to express myself in the elementary design, which is stone's own.

The fluid deformable becomes form, elusiveness becomes sensual.

Oorsprong van leven.

Een inspirerende, mysterieuze wereld van ongekende vormen.

In mijn laatste serie beelden gebruik ik hydrozoa als metafoor voor  het oerprincipe beweging.  Zowel als materialisatie van beweging (eenwording met water, stroming), als ook de cyclische beweging. Het is het enige organisme dat zichzelf steeds weer kan vernieuwen en wel van poliep naar neteldier en vice versa. In die zin is het een vervolg op mijn terugkerend thema ‘Stroming”.

Daarnaast laten ze ook hun kwetsbaarheid en fragiliteit zien.

Door albast als materiaal te kiezen, kon ik de fascinerende transparantie benaderen, maar moest ik me ook uitdrukken in de elementaire vormgeving, die steen eigen is.

Het fluïde vervormbare wordt vorm, ongrijpbaarheid wordt sensueel.
